What is Osaka YWCA Japanese Teachers Association?
The Osaka YWCA Japanese Language Teachers Association was established in April 1989 with the aim of establishing the expertise of Japanese language teachers, improving their status, and broadly contributing to the development of Japanese language education. It's an organization.
It is made up of Japanese language teachers who have passed the selection exam, and all teachers of Japanese language classes operated by Osaka YWCA are members of the Japanese Language Teachers Association. There are a wide variety of opportunities for students to work at external organizations such as universities, companies, and local governments, including providing and teaching Japanese language education, and their skills and leadership are highly evaluated.

The world of Japanese language education places emphasis on field experience. When recruiting teachers at many Japanese language schools, they are not only looking for qualifications, but also for people with extensive Japanese language teaching experience who can immediately work. If you join the Osaka YWCA Japanese Language Teachers Association, you will have ample opportunity to work in the field, even if you are a new teacher who has just completed the training course. That's because Osaka YWCA has been running a variety of Japanese classes for many years, including classes for international students, classes for business people, and Japanese classes for returnees from China!
How to join
The Osaka YWCA Japanese Language Teachers Association recruits members and holds a selection exam once a year. If you pass the selection test, you can become a member.

Learn teaching intermediate japanese
This course is for those who have never taught intermediate sentence patterns, or those who currently teach but want to review their own teaching methods. Learn from the basics what it means to teach intermediate sentence patterns. We will also show you how to use articles from newspapers, magazines, and the Internet. Japanese language teacher exam preparation course
The new "Japanese Language Teacher Examination" will finally begin in 2025. Passing this exam and obtaining a national qualification will become a prerequisite for teaching at Japanese language schools in the future. About the course
The "Japanese Language Teacher Examination" is divided into the "Basic Examination" and the "Applied Examination." Current employees who have completed the 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course are exempt from the "Basic Examination," but they can brush up on their knowledge. We recommend that you take not only the "Applied Exam Preparation" session, but also the "Basic Exam" Preparation Session, in order to prepare for the "Applied Exam".
